    OBITUARY

    Ludy E. Owens HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for Ludy E. Owens, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carrol Green officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Owens died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Legend of the Plains Nursing Center in Hale Center. She was born Dec. 4, 1907, in Gainesville where she lived until the age of 9 and moved to the Plains in 1916 in a covered wagon. She lived in Littlefield until moving to Hale Center in 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hale Center. On May 11, 1929, she married Charlie Guy Owens in Plainview. He died May 28, 1983.

    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Betty Owens of Hale Center; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Johnny Busby of Hale Center; two sisters, Lois Dickey of Plainview and Pearl White of Stinnett; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Ten brothers and sisters are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Hale Center Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 205, Hale Center, TX 79041.
