Lowell Phillip Maybee, 76, of Eads, Tennessee died on Monday, December 12, 2011 in Collierville, Tennessee.

Mr. Maybee was a retired antique dealer, craftsman and restorer who was also a former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 96, Assistant Scout Master of Troop 343, Marine Corps veteran, avid outdoor enthusiast and devoted Christian with memberships of both Kirby Woods Baptist Church and later Bethany Christian Church.

The family will receive guests and friends on Thursday, December 15 from 4 - 7 p.m. and funeral services will be on Friday, December 16 beginning at 10 a.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar Avenue.

Mr. Maybee was preceded in death by his wife Myra Whitaker Maybee, sister Rita Maybee and brother James Maybee. He is survived by his son Andrew Maybee and his wife Dianne of Collierville; grandsons Daniel, David and Drew Maybee; and two brothers Gerald "Jerry" Maybee of Scottsdale, AZ and Curtis Maybee of Lynchburg, VA.

Myra I. Maybee, 65, of Eads, former surgery director for the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and supervisor of surgery for Memphis Veterans Medical Center, died Tuesday at her home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Bethany Christian Church Cemetery in Eads.

She was a graduate of Baptist School of Nursing and Union University and a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and Kirby Woods Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Maybee, the wife of Lowell Phillip Maybee for 42 years, also leaves a son, Andrew Maybee of Collierville; her mother, Opal Whitaker of Cordova; two brothers, Cecil Whitaker of Hollywood, Fla., and Larry Whitaker of Clinton, Miss., and two grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Baptist Trinity Hospice Center for Good Grief or West Clinic Wings.

OPAL D. WHITAKER, 87, of Cordova, TN, died July 25, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.

She was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School Class. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, cooking, canning, gardening, visiting family and friends. She relished her grandchildren, loved the beach and her heart was won for Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 27 and services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Whitaker, parents, Mr. Meredith Marten Deel and Mrs. Ada Katherine Deel; daughter, Myra W. Maybee; sisters, Mae Cox, Mildred Millsap; brothers, Orba Deel, Virgil Deel, John Edward Deel.

She leaves two sons, Larry D. Whitaker of Clinton, MS, Cecil Whitaker of Ft. White FL, sisters, Dorothy Vaughn of Tallahassee, FL, Sophia McClain of Kingsport, TN; brother, Scottie Deel of Kingsport; grandchildren, Andrew P., Daniel, David and Drew Maybee; Kim and Corinn Whitaker; John, Johnathan, Caden and Makala Whitaker; Daniel G.
