Earl was born on June 7th, 1924 at Blackey, Virginia in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Edward and Geneva Grace Christian Mullins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Osa Ellen (Ocie) Baker Mullins; one sister, Berchie Mullins; one brother, Dearl Mullins, and a great-grandchild, Shana Cumbee. Earl is survived by his five children, Evelyn M. Harris and son-in-law Luther Jerry of Narrows, Herbert Mullins and daughter-in-law Connie of Coker, Alabama, Douglas Mullins, Sr., and daughter-in-law Sharon of Bozoo, West Virginia, Henry Mullins and daughter-in-law Judy of Thaxton, Virginia, Arlene M. Sharp and son-in-law Walter of Narrows; twelve grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Arville Mullins of Wolford, Virginia, Arnold Mullins and wife Beulah of Callands, Virginia, Harold Mullins and wife Marie of Tazewell, Herlen Mullins and wife Allie Mae of Southgate, Michigan; three sisters, Belva Lester of Paynesville, West Virginia, Beulah Stacy of Abingdon, Virginia, Berta Estep and husband Andrew of Wolford, Virginia; many nieces and nephews and many friends; and some very special friends and neighbors, Jamie and Heather Albert and family, Shirley and Clinton Richardson, Nikki and Dwight Collins, and Jennifer and Timmy Stewart and Family. "Eadie" Holcomb, 86, of Charleston died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness. She was born October 16, 1924 in Cambridge, Mass a daughter of the late Nils and Nellie Alsen. She was also preceded in death by her sister Margaret "Marnee" Alsen. She was a 1942 graduate of Arlington High School, and Pierce School in Boston, Mass. She continued her education in Accounting at WV State College. She had been the business administrator for the Baptist Temple Church for 28 years, and a member of the Baptist Temple Church for 60 years. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet in her spare time. She and Tom square danced for 14 years and she made all of her blouses, skirts and Tom?s ties and shirts. They had a camp for 32 years on the Elk River where she could relax and read. Eadie sang in the Chancel Choir and for many years, played in the bell choir which she loved working with Wayne Eich. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Thomas S. Holcomb, Jr. They celebrated their anniversary on March 31, 2011. Also surviving two daughters Carol A. Holcomb of St. Albans, and Nancy Miriam Stant and her husband Lou of Nashville, Indiana, three grandchildren Zack Stant of Hawaii, Marina Stant and Gabriel Stant both of Nashville, Indiana, one sister Dorothy Place of Maynard, Mass, 11 nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Eadie loved life and everyone loved her. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2pm at the Baptist Temple with Dr. Dennis Johnson and Rev. Archie Snedegar officiating. Stimpson, 74, of Main Street in New Durham, died suddenly on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Born May 10, 1929, in Farmington, she was the daughter of Abbott and Arlene (Place) Lawrence. A graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1946, she was a star basketball player. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was loved by all in her family and the community. She retired in October 2003, having served the town of New Durham for 22 years as bookkeeper and deputy town clerk. An avid golfer, she played at the Farmington Country Club and was a winner of many trophies. She enjoyed puzzles, knitting, stenciling, gardening, birds, holidays with the family, enjoyed visiting Foxwoods and was a New England Patriots fan. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Dean Stimpson of New Durham; 10 children, Denise and husband, Joseph Novak, of Daytona, Fla., Glenn and wife, Sharon Chagnon, of Alton, Donna Chagnon of Davisville, Diane MacDonald of Alton, Darlene Brown of Manchester, Dale Chagnon of Alton, Deborah Chagnon of Barnstead, Janine and husband, Patrick Young, of Farmington, Dennis and wife, Annette Chagnon, of Alton and Richard and wife, Linda Chagnon, Jr., of Alton; 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Landstrom of Ohio; and three brothers, Roger Lawrence of Alton, Richard Lawrence of Farmington and James Lawrence of Columbia; also several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard L. Chagnon. Calling hours are Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., in Farmington, N.H.
