Fugate, 85, Auburn, died Saturday at Auburn. She born Sept. 14, 1897, at Houston, Mo., and was married Sept. 28, 1919, at Houston. She lived in Bremerton from 1945 until 1949, then moved to Wenatchee and lived in the Wenatchee and Spokane areas until moving to Auburn in 1982. In her early life, Mrs. Fugate worked as a school teacher in rural Missouri and later worked in sales in Wenatchee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wenatchee and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Wenatchee. Survivors include her husband, Allen B. Fugate, Auburn; two sons, Robert B. Fugate, Marysville, and Dr. James P. FRANCIS ALLEY BURRESS Mrs. Francis Alley Burress, Cedar Bluff, age 79, died in a local hospital Friday afternoon following several months illness. She was born in Russell County, the daughter of late William and Eliza Jackson McCoy. She was married to William Andrew Alley who preceded her in death in 1928, she was later married to Raleigh Burress. Surviving in addition to her husband are eight children, Sandy Alley of Richlands, James of Tazewell, Joe of Raven, Kelly of Seaboard, Cecil of Newport News, Va., Mrs. Mae Wells of Bluefield, W. Va., Mrs. Elsie Muncey of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Mrs. Margie Fox of Crossville, Tenn. Also eight step-children, Byrd and Sherman Burress of Cedar Bluff, Ernest of Detroit, Mich., Emory of Grundy, Perry Vernon of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Dora Owens and Mrs. Georgia Harman of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Matilda Bledsoe, of Berwind, W. Va. Twenty-one grand-children also survive. The body was removed from Hurst-Scott Funeral Home to her residence Saturday morning.
