Olive attended Christian Life Center and enjoyed embroidery and shopping. She is survived by her children, Donna "Kathleen" Cooper, Gloria Jean Cox, Johnnie Elaine (Fred G.) Rose, Richard Aaron (Rebecca) Mounts, Kenneth Ray (Betty) Mounts, David Wesley Mounts and Carl Lee (Sharon) Mounts, all of Mansfield; twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; very special friend, Earl Hahn; a sister, Kathleen Thompson of Florida; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Mounts in 1994; sisters, Pauline Diamond, Helen Ferguson and Faye Ridenour; and brother, Clarence Addis. Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian Life Center, 961 Springmill Road with Pastor Gary Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Frank Reedy, Jr. "June", age 92 of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia was taken to his eternal home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was the sixth of nine children born, January 31, 1919 to J. Frank Reedy, Sr. and Carrie McGlothlin Reedy. Frank was born and raised in Drill, Virginia. He was a wonderful father and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church. Frank was known for his love and generosity to his family and anyone he felt had a need. He had a great memory of the area's people and history. He was often called upon to share his memories of family members, locations, cemeteries, etc. He loved to work in his garden and can the harvest, and he gave glory to God for the provisions. Frank was an avid reader, whittler and loved to work puzzles. Frank had traveled to all 50 states with his wife Mona. He worked as a coal miner, carpenter and brick mason. Above all he will be remembered for his abounding generosity and love. Preceding him in death are his wife, Mona Ball Reedy, his parents, Frank & Carrie Reedy, two brothers: Ralph Reedy, Charles Reedy, five sisters: Irene Wilson, Fern Honaker, Lorene Brown, Margie Sawyer and Marietta Davis. Survivors include four daughters, Janice Church and husband, Jim of Fredericksburg, VA, Carolyn Scott of Martinsville, VA, Cheryl Kincaid and husband, Mark of Yorktown, VA, Dawn Burks and husband, Doug of Cedar Bluff and one son, Lynn Reedy and wife, Janis of Oak Ridge, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Trina Church Cole of Fredericksburg, Michael Church of Fayetteville, NC, Bradley Church of Fredericksburg, VA, Sheri Scott Lawrence of Ridgeway, VA, B.J. She was born on November 23, 1917 near Brownsburg, VA, the only daughter of Margaret Lambert and Finley Wallace McClung. When she was three years old, her family moved to Waynesboro where she lived the remainder of her life. After graduating from Waynesboro High School, she attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton for 2 years. Agnes married C. Benton Coiner in 1936 who predeceased her in 1963. She was later married to Ward Downing Messimer for 38 years until his death in 2002. Agnes was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Church in Waynesboro where she was on the Alter Guild for many years. She also volunteered at Waynesboro Community Hospital as a ?Pink Lady,? was a founding member of the Rosecliff Garden Club, and a former member of the Tuesday Club in Augusta County. She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ray Burkart of McGaheysville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Mac and Judy Coiner of Mechanicsville, VA; grandsons Charles Patton and wife Cheryl of Wilmington, NC; Michael Patton and wife, Cindy of Arlington, VA; Lance Coiner and wife Yoshimi and Travis Coiner of Maui, HI. Also surviving are four great-grand children: Tyler, Brittany, Ryan and Marc Patton and step-children, Steve, Linda, Tom, Nancy, Mary and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. At one time, Agnes knew just about everyone in Waynesboro. She will always be known for her kindness, compassion, and gracious manner. Agnes loved being a mom, grandmother (Nanny), and great-grandmother. Agnes had a deep faith in God and set the example for a Southern lady. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Square and Legacy Hospice for the loving care she received. Alden Scott Anderson, 51, prominent Presbyterian minister and pastor of the church in Badin, North Carolina who died suddenly Saturday morning at the home of his brother, Rev. Alfred S. Anderson in Camerton, North Carolina Dr. James J. Murry, pastor of Lexington Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Mr. Anderson was born at Ivy Depot, near Charlottesville, a son Charles Harper Anderson and Sarah Scott Anderson, and was educated at Davidson College and the Union Theological Seminary at Richmond. He married Isabella Sterrett, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Sterrett of Rockbridge County. Passed away November 20, 2009 at Shenandoah Hospice House, Fishersville, VA. He married his sweetheart, Sara Frances Brown, twice, and has sorely missed her since her death in August 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Alden Scott Anderson; and his sisters, Isabel Sterrett McSwain and Annie Laurie Vanstone. He is survived by his son, A. Scott Anderson III and his wife, Dawn Forbes, of Roanoke, his son, R. Mark Anderson and his wife, Valerie Pandak-Anderson, and their children, Kristin and Bradley, of Richmond. Mark's daughter, Erin, of Harrisonburg; his daughter, Sara Lewis Vines, of Staunton, and her son, Nick; his greatgrandson, Tristin; his brotherin-law, Thomas C. "Mac" McSwain and his wife, Theresa, of Staunton; his brother-in-law, Richard Brown and his wife, Dianne, of Richmond; along with numerous other family members and friends. After enrolling in Washington and Lee University at 15 years of age, Alden joined the Navy and served during World War II aboard the USS Huntington CL-107, a light cruiser. He was graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1950 with other World War II veterans of his Class of 1946. He continued his education at the Medical College of Virginia's School of Dentistry and was graduated in 1954. He practiced dentistry in Staunton until 1993, spending a day a week serving the students at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind for 19 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and a member of the Session. He served in the Isaac Walton League as a national director, the Civic Club and has volunteered with the Gypsy Express Miniature Train in Gypsy Hill Park for many years. He enjoyed fellowship with other relatives of Meriwether Lewis, his mother having inherited Meriwether Lewis' personal journal from the Lewis and Clarke Expedition. At his death, Alden was one of the two closest relatives of Meriwether Lewis. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009, in the sanctuary at The First Presbyterian Church in Staunton. Graveside committal services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern. He was born in Gate City, Va., had spent most of his life in Kingsport and had been an employee of the Kingsport Power Company for 28 years. He was a member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Vermont Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina Tipton, of the home; two sons, Alfred Tipton Jr. and James W. (Jay) Tipton, both of the home; mother, Mrs. W. A, Tipton, Kingsport; two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Gaynell) Ketron, Fall Branch, Mrs. John (Mabel) Donihe, Kingsport'; two brothers, Robert Lee Tipton, Gray, Tenn., Bill Joe.
