Peterson 88, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Topsfield, died June 30, 2004. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Call) Peterson. Born in Lynn, April 13, 1916, Mr. Peterson was the son of the late Cecil Edmund and Emma (Banks) Peterson. He was raised and educated in the city of Lynn. As a child he moved to Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School Class of 1934. Mr. Peterson had worked for many years as an accountant for the H. Newton Marshall Company in Boston until the time of his retirement in 1978. He was a longtime member of the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers and often played the piano and organ at the church. He was a long time resident of the town of Topsfield. Mr. Peterson was actively involved with the reunion committee for Holten High School, in which he was the chairperson for the Class of 1934's 70th reunion. He is survived by four sons, Bruce and Nancy Peterson of Danvers, Russell Peterson of Reading, Douglas Peterson of Springfield and Donald and Linda Peterson of Rockledge, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Cash of Marblehead and Barbara Clay of Beverly; one brother, Cecil Peterson of Asheville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held July 28 from the McElroy Chapel of the Maple Street Congregational Church, Danvers. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Assisting the family with the arrangements was the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Danvers. Barnett, 89, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. He was born in Tazewell, Virginia to Alexander and Frances "Fannie" Barnett. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Perry worked in the shipyards of Wilmington during WWII building Liberty ships. He then later worked for the ACL railroad and moved to Jacksonville, FL as a statistician after a merger with the CSX railroad. He raised his family in Jacksonville and was an active member of Mandarin Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Hazel J. Barnett; sons, Michael L. Barnett (Rose) and M. Jonathan Barnett of Gainesville, FL; one brother; two sisters; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other family and friends. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Mandarin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Pound officiating. She entered this life on Saturday, May 20, 1916 in Bosque County, TX to the late Daniel and Cora Bell Buckner. She had been a resident of Kermit since 1977, having moved here from Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and was active in the Senior Citizens' Center. She was the wife of the late Oliver L. Dunn. They were married in Garvin County, Oklahoma on May 12, 1934, and were married for forty-eight wonderful years. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Loretta Bond of Odessa, Texas and Mrs. Karon Moffett of Las Cruces, NM; three sons, Mr. Royce Dunn of Kermit, Texas, Mr. Doyle Dunn of Odessa, Texas, and Mr. Alton Dunn of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Robbie Mills of Las Cruces, NM; one brother, Mr. Leon Buckner of Virginia Beach, Va. She had eleven grandchildren. Her granddaughters are Cheryl Hudson, Sharon Clary, Brenda Clemmer, Janette Jennings, Jana Huff, and Jennifer Moffett. Her grandsons are Douglas Dunn, Kendal Bond, Leslie Bond, Randall Dunn, and Brenton Dunn. She had twenty-two great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Services were held on Monday, July 7th at 2:00 pm at the First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Roy Walls officiating, assisted by Rev. J.L. Lewis of El Paso, Texas. Pallbearer and honorary pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons. Interment was held at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas. Rachel, a child of God, departed from this life on Earth on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 to go to Heaven and live with Jesus. Rachel?s heart overflowed with love and touched the lives of everyone she met. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. Rachel was the finest of homemakers, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Born August 12, 1915 at War, W.Va. she was a daughter of the late Walter and Edna Mae Whittaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Alfred Lowe; five brothers; and one sister. Rachel is survived by her loving and faithful husband of sixty years, Claude Sutherland; one daughter, Claudette French and husband, Bill; one son, Larry Sutherland and wife, Mae and baby Alana; one granddaughter, Tara Hancock and companion, Robbie Brewster; one grandson, Larry Brian Sutherland and wife, Tina; great-grandsons, Tyler Hancock, Jonathan and Isaac Sutherland all of North Tazewell, Va.; one sister, Irene Lawson of North Tazewell, Va.; and two sisters-in-law, that she loved like sisters, Cora Grizzle of Lebanon, Va. and Kathleen Stevenson of Potlow, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, she counted as family the compassionate and loving staff of Legacy Hospice, her adopted church family at Tazewell Family Worship Center, Dr. Phil Peterson and his wonderful staff at Bluefield Family Medicine.
