He was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Lawrence Coon; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Margaret) Wilson; one brother, T.P. Coon and two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Flora) Slade and Mrs. Robert (Wanego) Patton. Survivors: sons, John M. Coon, Jr. and Ronald Lee Coon, both of Tazewell and James E.
