Giddens, 74, of Far Hills died at 10:59 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Eldon, Mo., to Oral and Sally Edwards Giddens, he married Margaret W. Sarff on Jan. 14, 1941, in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Sandra) Tripp of Peoria; one son, Curtis Lory of Peoria; three brothers, Almon of Houston, Mo., Richard of Kansas City, Kan., and Jerry of Parsons, Kan.; two sisters, Mary Whitaker and Jo Ann Risley, both of Kansas City, Kan.; and three grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He was a manager of installation and training in the manufacturing systems in the general offices of Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1978. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Creve Coeur Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria and its J.O.Y. Class. He also was a member of Caterpillar Retirees Club, where he served as former treasurer, and Caterpillar Time Keepers Club. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The Rev. Dr. John H. Stanley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home in Peoria. Burial will be in Snicarte Cemetery in Bath. Richard S. Wilton, funeral director through Cumerford-Endsley, is in charge of arrangements. She was born August 7, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Harry Alexander Dunlap and Mary Annie Kerr Dunlap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Swink Clemmer; two sisters: Adeline Bare and Ann Dunlap; a brother, Robert Dunlap; and a nephew, Billy Dunlap. Mrs. Clemmer was retired from Stonewall Jackson Hospital as a nurse. She is the last surviving member of her family. Surviving are two nieces, Betty Pusey and husband, Sam and Libby Dunlap; two nephews: Mac Dunlap and wife, Delores and Tom Dunlap and wife, Carolyn; nine great nieces and nephews; eight great, great nieces and nephews. A graveside committal will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Oxford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mildred was born February 26, 1913 in Merit, Texas to Jack and Agnes Owens. She would work at various jobs and vocations in the community for over seventy-five years. She operated a drill press with her husband at their aluminum fabrication shop well into her eighties. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Owens; brothers, Johnny, Bill and Raymond Owens; sisters, Doris Purkey, Elsie Mae Smith, Lois Morris, Bertina Dorman and Betsy Thulis; daughter, Barbara Lyday; as well as her great-grandson, Dillon Kizer. Mildred is survived by grandchildren, Mike Lyday and his wife Diane; Terry Kizer and her husband Darin; Kristi Mize and her husband Jackie and Jeff Lyday; eleven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Valley Cemetery in Campbell.
