Iva was born May 19, 1912 in Merritt, Texas, to the late Lemuel Clay and Nancy Anna (Owen) Price. She and Roy W. Burt were married on May 19, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Iva was a homemaker and a member of Olney Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 9 1992, a brother Carl Price, a daughter Lora Mae Wright, a son Troy Leon Burt and four grandchildren: Iva Herebia, Roy Edgar Osborn, Annie Rachel Morgan, and Rodney Allen Burt. Iva is survived by sons: James Burt of Saginaw, Texas, L.C. The journey of this earthly life was completed for James Thomas Ward II on July 26, 2013 at the age of 88. He breathed his last breath here and his first breath there when he was escorted by Jesus to his heavenly home to be reunited with his loved ones and friends and to worship Jesus throughout eternity. James Ward II was born at Bearwallow, VA on February 13, 1925. He was the son of the late James Ward I and Carlie Wyatt Ward. Besides his parents, James II was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Linda Ruth Belcher Ward. His brothers; Paull (wife Carmie); Preston (wife Jettie); and Hassel Ward. Sisters; Minnie Ward (infant) and Myrtle Mae Ward Altizer. Surviving to carry on his love, loyalty and passion for life are his son Randall and wife Margot and grandsons Joshua and Caleb and granddaughter Anastasia Ruth Ward. James was the last surviving member of the immediate family. He was blessed with special nieces, nephews and cousins; also his church family and thoughtful and helpful nearby neighbors. A member of First Presbyterian Church, he was a member of the Rockingham Lake Fishing Club, Pennrose Park Country Club, and was a member of the City of Reidsville Planning Board for many years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip M. "Diddle" Hooper and William Franklin "Frank" Hooper and two sisters, June H. Goodes and Dorothy H. Link. Surviving are his wife, Flora McIntyre "Flossie" Hooper of the home; two daughters, Jane H. Harrill and husband, David of Reidsville, Dell H. Barbee and husband, Cliff of Reidsville; son, Phillip M. Hooper and wife, Tamara of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, Joseph T. Harrill, Anna C. Harrill, Ben C. Barbee, Phillip H. Barbee, Katherine L. McKinney, Rick McKinney, Steven M.. Hooper, and Sarah E. On May 6, 1933, she was married to Vander Dale Morris in Greenville. Mrs. Morris worked at the Royal Drive-In for 30 years, retiring as its manager. She was a Baptist. Special thanks go to Dr. James Nicholson and the fourth floor nurses at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy Morris of Keatchie, La., and Bill Morris and Florence Rushlow of Kingwood; granddaughters Terri Martin, Shelly and husband Dennis Erwin, Christy Mitchell, Dana Morris, and Kim Krast; three sisters, Bertina Dorman and Mildred Cauble of Greenville and Doris Purkey of Dallas; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Johnny Raymond and Bill Owens; and a daughter-in-law, Saundra Kay Morris.
