She was born on Sept. 4, 1902 at Rockbridge Baths, a daughter of Charles Reid and Angeline Wallace Dunlap Sterrett. She was a member of the Crabbottom Presbyterian Church and Women of the Church. She was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers' College which is now Longwood College. She was a member of the Highland Extension Club, and a member of the Highland Retired Teachers Association. Her husband, Jennings Judy Swecker, died Jan. 13, 1962. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Judy Riddick of Franklin and Betty S. Abbott of Pulaski; four sons William S. of Stuarts Draft, George R. and Robert T., both of Monterey, and James L. Swecker of Beckley, W. Va.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Swecker was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Swecker Crown on Sept. 7, 1980, and an infant son, Jennings Judy Swecker, Jr. A funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 26 in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, formerly the Crabbottom Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. C. William Cox with burial in the Blue Grass Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, James Crown, Robert W. Abbott, Jr., Jesse J. Swecker, J.L. Swecker, John R. Swecker, Dr. William S. Swecker, Jr. adn David W. Kiser and W.C. Rexrode. Honorary pallbearers were friends attending the service.
