Ray F. Harris, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. Lee Hill. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, in Tazewell. Survivors are two sons, Lloyd Burroughs and Vernon Burroughs, Parkersburg, WV. two daughters, Mrs. J. P. Whitman and Mrs. Wade Jennings both of North Tazewell. Her husband George W. Burroughs to whom she married in 1909, preceded her in death in 1948, and a son Paul in '51. She also leaves three brothers, R.L and Jack Arnold of Portsmouth, Va. and Fred L. Arnold of Roanoke, Va., eight grand children and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Burroughs was a native of Saltville and came to North Tazewell while a teenage girl. She was well known locally having been a practical nurse whose services took her to many community homes. I located the family by searching for Paul since he had been born in OK and the later children were born in McDowell Co. WV. At times the family used the name Delancy. Regina Lauer, John's great granddaughter said their family pronounced the name Delaney which was close to the pronunciation of Delancy. Frank has 2 KY birth certificates, his first one with the name Franklin Delancy and the other several years later as Franklin Dolina. June used the name Delancy on her marriage certificate in 1943, but her sister Helen used Dolina on her marriage certificate in 1943. Both sisters were married in Norfolk, VA within a few months of each other. And to make things even more confusing, Rhoda is listed as Ruth on some records.
