Thomas, 67, retired senior geologist for Kerr-McGee, died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degree at the University of Missouri and served as a fellowship in geology at Yale University. Elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi. He was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon, and was an officer in the Okla. City Geological Society. A loving and devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Ruth; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James D. and Donna Thomas of Burlington, VT; 2 sisters, Genevieve Larson of Conway, AR and Patricia Rogers of Rector, AR. She was born Feb. 24, 1926, at Paynesville, and was the daughter of the late Charlie L. and Meda Mullins Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Shanna Cumbee; two sisters, Della Mae Baker Brandon and Polly Jane Baker Waddell; two brothers, Lawson Baker and Maddison 'Matt' Baker; and a daughter-in-law, Mollie Jackson Mullins. She worked as a riveter at Douglas Aircraft, a meat packer for Armor and a provider for DHS. Priscilla enjoyed gardening, fishing and reading. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Wilburton. Priscilla is survived by her son, Jearld Battles and wife Vickie of Wilburton, Oklahoma; daughter, Brenda Mitchell and husband Victor of Wilburton, Oklahoma, grandchildren; James Mitchell, Monte Battles, Shawn Battles, Steven Battles, Todd Battles, Jeremy Mitchell and Shereen Posey, twenty two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Maude Wilcox; her husband R.C. 23306	OBITUARY From Find A Grave Randall Wayne Lambert, 66, of Carlock, Illinois, died on Thursday, June 3, 1999, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois. He was retired from maintenance at General Electric in Bloomington. He was born on October 19, 1932, in Hamilton County, a son of Harvey A. and Ellen (Campbell) Lambert. He married Marilyn Jeckel on July 14, 1962, in Emden, Illinois. She survives. He served in the #105 Air Police Squadron in Korea, was a past officer of the Bloomington-Normal Rabbit Club, a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and a member of VFW Post 1376 in Mt. Vernon. The funeral was held on Monday, June 7, 1999, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Normal, Illinois. Burial was in Memorial Gardens, Normal. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Tate Alexander; three sons, Dr. Bruce Alexander and wife Margaret, of Birmingham, Ala., Sam Alexander and wife Kenmar, of Staunton, and John Alexander and wife Susan M., of Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert T. She was born March 3, 1930, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late Elmer and Helen Elsie Thompson McCauley. Before retiring, Mrs. Wade was a nurse's aide at King's Daughters' Hospital and Oak Hill Nursing Home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the "Challengers" Sunday school class. She participated in the Church Nursery and attended the Bible study class. 23316	OBITUARY From Find A Grave Victim of Hydrophobia Mrs. Esther Butts Bitten by Mad Dog ? Resulted in Death Mrs. Esther Butts, Seventy-eight years old, making her home with her son, J.V.Butts, died Saturday at 7:10 p.m., from the effects of a bite from a mad dog over a month ago. About the 1st of February the Butts dog jumped on another dog and were fighting near the Butts home, when Mrs. Butts attempted to part them and the Butts dog bit her slightly on the back of the hand. The dog then went away and bit a number of dogs in the neighborhood, returning home at night, where it was found dead a short time after the above occurrence. Nothing was thought of the bite on Mrs. Butts hand until last week, when it began to pain her, and on Wednesday as she went to take a drink the sight of the water threw her into convulsions. Physicians were at once called and everything done to get the poison out of her system, but it had too thorough a hold, and after seeing there was no chance for her recovery, the doctors tried only to relieve her great suffering, in which they were partially successful. She remained conscious until Saturday noon and death came Saturday evening. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. J.H. Deyo, after which the remains were interred in Twin Groves cemetery. They family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sad bereavement. Esher Rice was born June 11, 1824; was married September 6, 1844, to James Butts at McArthur, Ohio. To this union was born nine children, of whom three are known to survive, as follows; William Butts, of Park Place, Oregon; J.V. Butts of Severy, and J.H. Butts, of Tallahassee, Florida. They moved from Ohio to Indiana in 1856, then came to Kansas in 1872, where they have lived ever since. She was a member of the M.E. Church for a number of years. Lonely? 23317	OBITUARY From Find A Grave Virginian-Pilot; 30 September 2005 Melvin Leo Dudley, 85, passed away peacefully Sept. 27, 2005. He was born in Lynchburg, Va. Sept. 27, 1920, to the late Samuel and Carrie Dudley. He served his country proudly for 30 years in the United States Navy, retiring in August of 1970. Melvin loved baseball and was a huge Orioles fan. He enjoyed walking, sometimes carrying his beloved dog Mickey when he got too tired to continue. He also enjoyed cooking and was capable of converting recipes that were meant to feed 200 down to a manageable size. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Arleen Bryant Dudley. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sheila D. Dobiliauskas and husband George of District Heights, Md. and Donna D. Dunleavy and husband Charles of Portsmouth; his three granddaughters, Katherine, Jennifer and Deborah, all of Portsmouth; a sister, Lois Fogle; brother, Lewis T. He later worked in security, and volunteered his time for several organizations including the Community of Christ Temple and the Groves Community Hospice. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed music and was a member of the Messiah Choir from 1950 until 2008 as well as a member of the choir at the Stone Church, Community of Christ. He was an active member and elder in the Community of Christ. He was married to June (Robb) on December 22, 1950; she survives of the home. 23320	OBITUARY From Find A Grave William Folkes Caldwell, Jr., 92, widower of Hedy Karin (Vellner) Caldwell of Fishersville, died Thursday, November 7, 2014, at Augusta Health. He was born March 24, 1922, in Augusta County, a son of the late William Folkes Caldwell, Sr. and Lucy (McClure) Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II in the European Theater. Prior to retirement, Mr. Caldwell owned and operated Caldwell Drilling and formerly served as superintendent of manufacturing at Westinghouse. He was a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years on June 20, 2014. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, William F. Caldwell, III and Deborah; two grandchildren, Holly Caldwell-Ratwani of Fishersville and Heather Caldwell Hite and husband, Todd of Waynesboro; three great grandchildren, Vaiden and Logan Hite and Zara Ratwani; a brother, Ben Caldwell and wife, Betty Jo; a sister, Mary Ellen Caldwell Lockridge; and one niece and three nephews. Rice, a retired credit manager for McKesson Drug Co. in St. Louis, died Thursday (Sept. 11, 1997) at his home in Fenton after suffering from prostate cancer. He was 81. Mr. Rice was a credit manager for 25 years with Mc Kesson, a wholesale drug firm, before he retired in 1982. He joined the company in 1935. In the late 1940's he was involved with the Boy Scouts here. He was formerly active at Concord Trinity Methodist Church in south St. Louis County. Mr. Rice was born in Roselawn, Ind., and grew up in Butler, Mo. After attending the old City College of Law and Finance in St. Louis, he served in the Army infantry in the European Theatre in World War II. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Road, Affton. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. After high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country, as a Sergeant, during the Korean Conflict. Following four years serving our nation, Jim attended Columbia College in New York and graduated from Bentley in Waltham, MA with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. In 1998, Jim and his wife, Christine, moved to Saint Petersburg, FL where he ably expanded his CPA practice. Jim is survived by his wife Christine, of Saint Pete Beach, FL; his daughter Diana of Lexington, MA; his sons James of Jersey City, NJ, and Jerald (Heidi), and grandson Timothy all of Billerica, MA; and stepchildren, Jeff of Parkville, MD, and Elena (John), and their daughter, Isabella all of Tuscon, AZ. 23334	OBITUARY Giles Everett Ring, Sr., of Richmond, Virginia, passed away January 07, 2006 at Morningside Assisted Living at the age of 98. Born in Edinburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late George W. and Lena C. Ring. Upon graduation from Elon College in 1929 he was hired as a chemist by DuPont at its Waynesboro, VA plant. In 1952 DuPont transferred him to its May plant in Camden, SC. In 1965 he was transferred back to Waynesboro where he retired in 1969 after 40 years of service. He moved to Richmond in 1992. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Sallie McClung Ring in 1983. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are three sons: Giles E. Ring, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, B. Mrs. Johnson was born in Richmond, Va., and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eden. She served on the Morehead Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and was a lifetime member of the Morehead Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Patrick Charles Dolina, 62 years old completed his earthly life on December 17, 2010 traveling instantly into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior. Heavenly transformed, eternally young, healthy and with natural red hair, he donned his heavenly crown, to never look back on the ravages of suffering again. How can you describe the life of a dynamic person like Pat in a few words? It can?t be done. He began life?s adventure on November 14, 1948 in #4 hollow in Premiere, West Virginia. He was originally named Jerry Lloyd which was changed to Pat after his adoption. He was the first twin born five minutes before his brother Mike. They were the thirteenth and fourteenth children born to John and Argie (Tate) Dolina. Pat's natural father was an electrician in the coal mines. Pat's father died of a massive heart attack at the early age of 43 leaving his mother who had no working skills to raise the remaining nine children left in the home. Because they lived in a coal miner's house that had to be vacated thirty days after his father's death, the family moved to an old shack that had no plumbing and an outdoor water well high in the mountains of Roderfield, W. Virginia. Because of the abject poverty and the health conditions of the children, Donna, Pat and Mike were adopted at the age of three and two months by their Uncle and Aunt, Robert and Ida Mae Dolina and brought to Tulsa to spend the rest of their childhood growing up in the historical Tracey Park addition. They brought to them the lifelong home in Tulsa. Pat had a full and productive life in Tulsa being a member of the Order of the Demolays Delta chapter. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Horace Mann Jr. High and graduated with the Central High class of 1967. Pat loved sports and excelled in athletics. Wrestling and football was his game. Pat was baptized as a child, accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church. Pat was also a 32 degree Mason with Lodge 543 and a shriner. Pat had a 39 year separation from his birth family, not knowing his natural mother, brothers and sisters. In 1989, by Divine Intervention, Donna, Pat, Mike and families traveled back to Welch, W. Virginia to the home of their oldest sister Bernice to meet all of their other brothers, sisters and family members. It was one of the highlights in Pat?s life other than the births of his two daughters. Pat and Beverly Morse were married for 11 years and two daughters, Dawn and Kimberly were blessed from this union and they later divorced. Pat later remarried Valerie Sandejo who had two young boys with no Father. Pat adopted Jay and Corey and raised them as his own and was called "Dad" very affectionately. Pat and Valerie also later divorced. Pat served for 18 years in the military in the U.S. Army branch achieving the rank of Sgt. Pat served in the communications area of the service and was very intelligent to learn and decode Morse Code messages from our foreign enemies. After 18 years in the service Pat went to work as a machinist for John Crane working his way up to shop foreman for 17 years. Pat also taught machine shop and CNC programming at the Tulsa VO Tech. Pat also assisted in establishing Superior Gauge Svc in the late 1970's. Until his health began to fail him, Pat was a very active, independent and always a strong willed but responsible man. He could always be counted on and had a wonderful work ethic. Pat loved to watch OU and especially OSU football, The Dallas Cowboys as well as other favorite teams. Pat's passion was fishing and he could be found numerous weekends at Grand Lake on his house boat or bass fishing in the coves with his brother Mike. Pat's personality could best be described as sweet, stubborn, funny, loving and very generous to others!!! He would do anything for a friend or a relative. Pat is reunited with many loved ones. Hurd, (previously Logue, nee Walsh), died peacefully of natural causes on October 22, 2015 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL after a long struggle with dementia. Her husband of 38 years, Jack W. Hurd, was with her shortly before her passing. Peg was 85 years old. Peg was born November 22, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to Irish immigrant parents, Anthony Walsh and Nora Walsh, (nee McHale), both of County Mayo, Ireland. She was the forth of seven children: Patrick Walsh, (died soon after birth); Mary McKenna, deceased; Nora ?Cissy? Smith, previously McGraw, deceased; Anthony ?Bud? Walsh, deceased; John Walsh, deceased; and Frances Walsh, Sister Ancilla Regina, IHM. Peg attended Saint Rose of Lima Grammar School and West Catholic Girls High School where she excelled academically, sang, played basketball, and, to her immense pride, was a Green Ribbon Girl--one of those who guarded the venerable marble stairs. She spoke often, and happily, of the weekly dances she attended at neighboring parishes during her teen years. Following high school she worked at Gimbels department store along with her future husband, William ?Ted? Logue. The two married in 1951 and had 5 children: Theodore ?Ted? Joseph Logue of Virgina Beach, VA; John Anthony Logue, deceased at age 23; Noreen Regina Logue, deceased at age 17; Margaret Anne Carpenter (married to Scott Carpenter), of Oak Park, CA; and Katherine Mary Logue (married to Jonathan Nyland), of Barrington, IL. Peg is survived by her 5 grandchildren: Bridget Carpenter, Joey Carpenter, Duncan Nyland, Fiona Nyland, and Charlotte Nyland. As a young mother and wife, Peg moved to Glendora, New Jersey. She was active in her community?president of St Theresa?s Altar and Rosary Society; president of the mothers of the Glendora Little League; treasurer of the Royalettes, the majorette group. She enjoyed bowling for Mary?s Cold Cuts-- a ?spare bowler? she called herself. In fact, she carried her bowling bag, with ball and shoes, in the trunk of her car for years after she stopped playing in a league?just in case. She enjoyed playing cards. She was a voracious reader and kept up on current events and politics. She and her family enjoyed the Jersey shore, as guests of Peg?s parents, for a week every summer. Later, she worked as a teacher at St Patrick?s Grammar School in Woodbury, NJ. At night she attended Glasboro Community College to work on her teaching certificate. In 1969 Peg moved her family to Northern Virginia to begin a new life as a single mother after separating from her first husband. There she began her professional career in earnest, first as a physician?s secretary for several years, and then finally as a Security Clearance Manager for defense contractors-- Lulejian and Associates and BDM. The work suited her sharp intellect, organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. Peg would rise to middle management, while completing her Associates Degree from Northern Virginia Community College. She was proud of her professional accomplishments and years later, in the confusion of her dementia, she would often reference her work ?with the spooks.? While working full-time and supporting her family, she cared for her four children who were still at home, including her son John, who had become paralyzed. She was a somewhat demanding mother, who expected her children to work hard and excel at school while doing their part at home, and for the older children, while working a part-time job. Tragedy marred these years, starting with the death of her niece at 19, followed by the death of her daughter, Noreen, at 18, and her son, John, at 23. The family would joke that we were like the Kennedys, only without the money. Peg?s ability to laugh helped carry her through these years. Between the deaths of her daughter and son, Peg met her second husband, Jack W. Hurd. Jack and Peg celebrated their 38th anniversary this August. Jack was Peg?s best friend. When they were not working or parenting, Peg and Jack traveled, danced, attended the theater, and visited museums and historic homes (usually with Peg?s youngest in tow). They played cards and entertained their many friends. Peg and Jack were long-time volunteers at Fairfax Hospital. They became very active members at the Fairfax Elks. Peg was president of the Ladies of the Elks, and later was part of the second group of women who became Elks in their own right. In 2002, after retiring and a few years of being ?snowbirds?, Peg and Jack moved from Northern Virginia to Vero Beach, Florida full time. To her delight, three of her siblings also lived in Vero Beach at that same time. Peg was already showing the early signs of her dementia, yet she and Jack were very active at the Elks in Vero Beach and volunteered at Indian River Medical Center. They also sang in the chorus at Vista Plantation. As Peg?s dementia increased, her ability to continue her activities diminished. She was irritable, even angry, as she sensed her mind, once so sharp, slip away. Jack lovingly cared for her at home until October 2010, when she moved to the memory care unit at The Place in Vero Beach. For over 4 years, Jack visited Peg almost daily, to feed her lunch and sit with her. Her children and grandchildren visited when they could. Long after Peg no longer recognized her children and grandchildren, she could still recall and sing the words to many songs, ?America the Beautiful? being her favorite. This past August, Peg was moved from The Place to Palm Gardens. Surprisingly, her spirits over the last year, and particularly in these last two months at Palm Gardens, were much lighter and brighter than they had been during the darkest years of her dementia. Near the end she was still ?talking? and laughing. The Strunk Funeral Home oversaw Peg?s cremation.
