Leeson, Pueblo resident since 1948, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 1990. He retired from the Colorado State Hospital Maintenance Dept. in February, 1989, after 26 years of Service. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr Leeson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon and Russell Leeson; and one grandson, Jeffrey Scott Coke. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Leeson of the family home;one son, Jim (Kathy) Coke, Colorado Springs; one daughter, Patsy (Jerry) Wright , Pueblo; five grandchildren, Gail and Eugene Wright. Wendy Jacobs, all of Pueblo, Cindy (John) Trent, Wichita, Kan. and Allen T. Coke, Colorado Springs; six great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Dale Leeson, Eagle, Calif., Lloyd Leeson, Gabbs, Nev., Carl Leeson, Santa Ynez, Calif., Marjorie Beaver, Two Lakes, Ill.,Rosalie Long, Longmont, Colo., Lois N. Dunn, 88, of Hooker died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon. Muriel Elizabeth Krieger was born Nov. 11, 1911 near Hooker, the daughter of Bert and Lena Maude Arters Krieger. She lived in Hooker all her life, except the last year when she made her home at Dunaway Manor in Guymon. On July 16, 1926, she was united in marriage to Alva R. Dunn in Liberal, Kansas. He passed away Jan. 14, 1963. Homemaking was what Muriel loved to do and her love for her home and her family was very special. She did lots of hand work and crafts for each of her children always starting Christmas early to make her gifts to make the season fun. She will be missed very much. Survivors include her son, Tom and Charlotte Dunn of Hooker; three daughters, Margaret Dunn and Nettie Bridges both of Parson, KS and Bessie Scott of Hooker; her adopted children, John and Ruby Maynard of Hooker; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; one brother, Orie and Loretta Krieger of Turpin. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two daughters, Loretta Dunn and Betty Bledsoe; one sister, Hazel Hamby; four brothers, Roy, George, Mike and Charles Krieger; granddaughter, Brenda Jean Bledsoe and great granddaughter, Krista Burges. She was born in the Whittaker Ridge section of Bandy, Va., and was the daughter of the late Hobart McKinley and Fannie Belle Crockett Whittaker. She was a member of the Cedar Bluff Presbyterian Church and the Lebanon Presbyterian Church and was a lifetime resident of the Cedar Bluff area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Damron and Sissie Burton; four brothers, Grat, Raymond, Dock and Thomas "Buddy" Whittaker. Those who survive her are her daughters, Shirley Childress and husband Jim of Cedar Bluff, Va., Nancy C. Burke and husband Charlie of Peery, Ohio; son, Eugene Franklin Lowe of Cedar Bluff, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Puckett and husband Don of Claypool Hill, Va., Mrs. Lucille Steele and husband Ray of Valls Creek, W.Va., Mrs. Frankie Miller of Pulaski, Va.; grandchildren, Scottie Burke, Brian Burke, Michael Bell, Shane Bell, Richard Bell and Jeanie Ross; great-grandchildren, Jamie Ray Burke, Jordan Ashley Burke, Jasmine Lynn Bell, Shay Bell, Savannah Bell, Shawn Michael Bell, and Marcus Allen Ross; great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Ryan Kennedy, Cannon DeWayne Bell and Colton Wade, Thomas Hunley; also, special close family members, Judy and Paul Sutherland, Cedar Bluff, Va. Mrs. Long was born June 11, 1923 in McDowell County, a daughter of the late George and Gertrude Miller Christian. A life long resident of McDowell County she graduated from Iaeger High School in 1941 and retired from the McDowell County Board of Education in 1989. She gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 14 and was a member of the Church of God at Harmons Branch near Iaeger where she had been a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and youth leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Russell T. Long, three daughters, and one sister. She is survived by two sons, Donald Long and wife Marie of Bloomington, Ind., and Ted Long and wife Tina of Bramwell; two daughters, Carrol Steele and husband Bob of Iaeger, and Sandra Long also of Iaeger; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday at the Church of God at Harmons Branch in Iaeger with Pastor John R. Green officiating. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Sunday from 6-9 p.m. Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is in charge of arrangements.
