Lois Marchant Hurlburt
February 25, 1915 - March 23, 2012
Lois Marchant Hurlburt, loved and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed on March 23, 2012, at the age of 97 after a long stay at the East Side Nursing Home. Lois was the heart and soul of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Alton and Lillian Munger, her first husband, Lyle L. Marchant, infant son, Douglas and brothers, Don and Charles Munger. She is survived by her three daughters; Linda Marchant, JoAnn (Gary) Ward, Terry (John) Sammons, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and four nephews. She is also survived by her current husband, Russell Hurlburt.
Lois was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. A dedicated and caring teacher in Warsaw and Perry School districts, and a substitute teacher after retirement in neighboring school districts. In her ?spare? time, Lois played piano/organ for her church and for other events, sang in the choir, was the tailor for her first husband?s clothing store, was a tremendous cook and baker for her family and others, but was most of all a loving, devoted mother, wife and grandmother always.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 29, in Warsaw Cemetery at 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw at 2:00 pm to celebrate the life of Lois Marchant Hurlburt. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Methodist Church, 6 W. Court St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
