who died March 16, 1789
Aged 50 years
A Perfon unrelated [&] unrequefted takes the
Liberty in Justice to her character to fay
That as a faithful & agreeable Friend [&] Wife
[&] Mother[,] a Miftrefs [&] an Economift[,] Fhe
merited the imitation of all her female [a]c[-]
quaintance & reftricted Honour on her fex.
Hark fhe bids her friends adieu
Some angel calls her to the fpheres
Our eyes the radiant faint perfue
Thro liquid telescopes of tears.
Farewel [sic] bright foul, a fhort farewel [sic],
Till we fhall meet again above
In the fweet groves where pleafures dwell,
And trees of life bears fruits of love.
Sweet foul we leave thee to thy reft,
Enjoy thy Jefus and thy God,
Till we, from bands of clay releas'd,
Spring out and climb the fhining road.
While the dear duft fhe leaves behind
Sleeps in thy bofom facred tomb;
Soft be her bed, in her flumbers kind,
And all her dreams of joys to come.
Her Saviour fhall her life reftore,
And raife her from the dark abode;
Her flefh and foul fhall part no more,
But dwell for ever near her God.
