BARNETT Perry B. Barnett, 89, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. He was born in Tazewell, Virginia to Alexander and Frances "Fannie" Barnett.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Perry worked in the shipyards of Wilmington during WWII building Liberty ships. He then later worked for the ACL railroad and moved to Jacksonville, FL as a statistician after a merger with the CSX railroad. He raised his family in Jacksonville and was an active member of Mandarin Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Hazel J. Barnett; sons, Michael L. Barnett (Rose) and M. Jonathan Barnett of Gainesville, FL; one brother; two sisters; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Mandarin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Pound officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mandarin Presbyterian Church or to Community Hospice of NE FL.
