She was born on July 5, 1905 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late George Wilson Emmett and Laura Francis Knick Nicely. Mrs. Nicely was a homemaker. She was the oldest living member of Central Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge. She worked hard all her life and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Beulah and Bernie Teaford of Clifton Forge, Carol and Elmer Sharp of Fredericksburg, VA., and Lou and Larry Sharp of Cloverdale, VA.; five sons and daughters-in-law, James L. "Buck" and Ann Nicely of Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Norman and Glenda Nicely of Clifton Forge, Larry and Daisy Nicely of Troutville, VA., Phillip and Bonnie Nicely of Falls Church, Va., and Benny and Linda Nicely of Sweetsprings, MI.; forty grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; special daughter-in-law, Henrietta Nicely of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Adam Nicely in 1988; one daughter, Mabel Aldridge; one son, Dwight Nicely; three brothers, Elbert, Lloyd and James Nicely; and four sisters, Ida Morgan, Della Brackenridge, Sue Brackenridge, and Mary Lucy Nicely. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. from Central Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with the Reverends Louis Dodd and T. G. Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Nicely Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:30 P.M. and other times at the residence's of her children. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central Advent Christian Church, 3515 Longdale Furnance Road, Clifton Forge, VA. 24422
