Neal McNew Sr., 81, of Kingsport, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn. He was born on Feb. 17, 1927 in Moccasin Valley, Russell County. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Pastor Jon Darnell officiating and Rev. Jim Putnam assisting. Military graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Oak Hill Mausoleum IV with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post 265 and the Tennessee National Guard officiating.
