She was born in Lookout, KY on June 27, 1920 to Robert D. and Mary M. Tate. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Tate, and sister, Faye Henderson. June attended Concord College in West Virginia and V.P.I in Blacksburg, VA. She was a member of Warrenton United Methodist Church and the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Women. June is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, John Wood Payne, daughter, Sue Payne Kenworthy of Fairfax, and son, Larry D. Payne and wife Sandra of Hume; grandchildren Emily K. Loving and Jason D. Payne both of Hume; great-grandchildren Riley and Mackenzie Loving, and Madeline Linthicum. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Phyllis Tate of Christiansburg, VA and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave. Warrenton, VA. 20186. Interment will be in Orlean Cemetery.
