He was born August 7, 1922, in Russell County, the son of the late Isaac B. and Beulah Glenn Davis. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Virginia State Police as a trooper with 31 years of service. He was a member of the Staunton Masonic Lodge #13 for over 50 years. He also belonged to Staunton-Augusta County Civic Club for many years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 60 years, family members include a brother, Winston B. Davis of Richmond; and 11 nieces and nephews, Kay Carter, Lynn Hill, Bill Hanger, Jane Hanger, Tom Bowles, Neal Bowles, Sarah Stacy, Leigh Ann Riggleman, Mike Davis, Linda Stinson, and Brenda Jenkins. A Masonic service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Staunton Masonic Lodge #13. Burial will be private. Active pallbearers will be members of the Virginia State Police Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Virginia State Police.
