Alden Scott Anderson, died Thursday afternoon in King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. She was born on May 14, 1890, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Madison McClung Sterrett and Laura Smith Sterrett. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Dr. Alden S. Anderson, Jr. of Staunton; two daughters, Mrs. Isabel McSwain of Staunton and Mrs. Annie Laurie Vanstone of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A service was conducted Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Lexington Presbyterian Church by Dr. J.H.J. Vernon and Dr. L. Randolph Harrison. Burial was in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.
