  Notes	OBITUARY Canton Pilot, Canton, KS; 10 March 1938 MRS. ANNA EDWARDS DIED YESTERDAY Funeral Services Today at the Baptist Church Mrs. Anna Rice Edwards, 82 years old, since 1879 a resident of Canton, passed away at the home of her grandson, Warren Edwards, in Wichita, yesterday morning following a long illness. The funeral will be held this afternoon, 2 o'clock at the Canton Baptist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Harry Burden. Interment will be made in the Canton cemetery. Canton chapter of Eastern Star of which she was a charter member will have charge of the service at the cemetery. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Indiana. She was born at Westville. On October 19, 1873 she was married to John W. Edwards at Fairbury, Nebr. She was the mother of three sons: Floyd, and Arvin Willis, both deceased; and Charles M. Edwards of Wichita, and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Fay Champlin. She was a member of the Christian church, Order of Eastern Star and Past Matrons club. She was a charter member of the Canton chapter of Eastern Star and a past worthy matron. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards came to Canton to enter the hotel business. They moved the old hotel from north of the Rock Island tracks and joined it onto another building which made the present Canton Hotel. After her husband's death, Mrs. Edwards operated the hotel for a number of years. "Grandmother" Edwards, as she was affectionately known to many in the community, had a wide circle of neighbors and friends who sorrow at her death.
