Born April 25, 1923, in Fair­field, he was a son of the late Dallas Lee McClung and Stella Paynter McClung. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Swisher Mc­Clung. H.L. was a very respectful and loving family man as well as a hardworking man. He was well known by all for his talents. There were too many accomplishments to write about. He was a lifelong farmer who believed in working from sunup until sundown. His church lifelong membership at the Concord Church of the Brethren was very much a part of his life. He worked in many capacities in the church except the ministry, in which he would have done if needed. Surviving are his wife, of Fair­field; four daughters; two sons; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter; one stepson; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. The pall­bearers and honorary pallbear­ers are Mark Jones, Billy Weeks, Charlie Henry, Brandon McClung, Joey Mc­Clung, Ryan McClung, Lori Bare, Vicki Burkholder, Amber McClung, Dustin Jones, Sean Jones, Ashley Jones, Megan Bare, Tyler Bare, Ethan Weeks, Kari Burkholder, and Autumn Burkholder. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thurs­day, Jan. 10, at Harrison Fu­neral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Reese and the Rev. Carl Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Ceme­tery. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
