  Notes	OBITUARY Anita Carol Burke Cantrell, age 62 of Radford, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. Born December 31, 1951 in Richlands, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thurman Joseph and Orthie Shortt Burke. She was a former employee of University Management, Inc. and worked for Radford Pound Paws and many other charitable organizations. Defying the odds, she had battled stage four ovarian cancer for 10 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy Marie Burke and one sister-in-law, Carol Burke. She is survived by one son, Jamie Cantrell and wife Leigh of Richlands, VA; three daughters, Cat Cantrell of Radford, VA, Penny Falck and husband John (Shaggy) of Christiansburg, VA and Amy Hess and husband Terry of Vansant, VA; two brothers, Elmer Lee Burke and wife Elsie of Short Gap, VA and James Burke and fiancee Lennie Carol Kent of Richlands, VA; one sister, Inis Mae Short and husband Dannie D. of Cedar Bluff, VA; two grandsons, Derek Hess and Chace Collins; one granddaughter, Sophie Cantrell; step daughter, Brandy Smith of Jewell Ridge, VA; step son, Jackie Rose of Concord, NC and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
