• Name	Allison (Alice) SKELTON
  	It has been given as Shelton through a transcription error. One Hardy researcher reported the 1665 Visitations of Yorkshire listed the name of the wife of Michael Hardy as Alison Skelton, not Shelton. This person spent 55 years researching the Hardy family in the original records both in Isle of Wight and in Bedforshire and Yorkshire. He sent me a copy of the record as written 28 Aug 1665 by the College of Arms in London who maintain genealogy records of all families of nobility. The book was in a volume printed in 1724. The document clearly shows her name as Skelton. Also, this document does not give the name of Michael Hardy's parents other than "blank Hardy, sometime Lord Mayor of London."
