OBITUARY
Belvie Ward Horne, 91 years of age of Pilgrims Knob, VA, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 1, 2011, at her residence, surround by her family. Born in Buchanan County, March 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John Newton Ward and Polly McGlothlin Ward Whitt.
Mrs Horne was a member of the Baptist Bible Church, she enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She especially enjoyed working in her flower garden, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Henry Joel Horne; five brothers, Robert, Ted, Woodrow, Samuel and Denny Ward; three grandchildren, Darrell Eugene Jackson, Keith Keens and Ronald Lee Jackson.
She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Keene and husband Harvey of Pilgrims, Knob, VA, Lorraine Jackson of Pilgrims Knob, VA; two sons, Hubert Horne and wife Anna Lee of Cedar Bluff, VA, Wayne T. Horne and wife Sandie of Patterson, VA; one sister, Thelma Honaker and husband Will Ray of Pilgrims Knob, VA.
She was also survived by four granddaughters, Bonnie Hackworth, Teresa Short, Nikki Jackson, Whitney Ann Horne; two grandsons, Randall Horne, Jeffery Horne and ten great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs Belvie Ward Horne will be conducted Monday, July 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, VA with Pastor Andy Maynard and Evg. Bill Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in the Esau Rife Cemetery, Keen Mountain, VA.
Active pallbearers will be: James Keene, Mark Jackson, John Jackson, Ethan Keene, Jamie Hackworth and Matthew Horne.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Ray Honker, C.B. Vandyke, Michael Cantrell, Roger Keene, Roger Street, Jimmy Brown and men of the Baptist Bible Church.
