A graduate of Asbury College, she was a social worker supervisor for children services and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was survived by her brother, Jim (Betty) Whitaker, Richmond; sister-in-law, Jennalee Whitaker; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Whitaker.
