- He was a resident of Fairview, TN. He joined the Navy May 1938 and entered service Jan 15, 1939 and was a veteran of 34 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a survivor of the Bataaan Death March and Japanese Prisoner of War Camp. WW II. Sam was reported missing in action by the Bureau of Navigation, Washington D.C.
Services were held at Nashville National Cemetery in Nashville, TN. He was survived by three sons, three daughters, five grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters. [1]
