    CLAIMED BY DEATH.

    Mrs. J. Ed Tyson

    Mrs. J. Ed Tyson, 85, died at her home here this morning following an illness that kept her confined to her home since last June.

    Before her marriage to Mr. Tyson, who died in March 1942, she was Miss Mary Martilla Pittman. She was born on April 1, 1863, a daughter of the late William E. Pittman and Mrs. Rozella Hammond Pittman of Wisharts Township. She was a member of the East Lumberton Baptist Church and the Woman's Missionary Society, and was a regular attendent at all services, until she was confined to her home by her last illness. She possessed a quiet, unassuming disposition and a sense of humor, was gentle and patient in her manner. Her Christian influence was felt and she was greatly beloved by those who knew her.

    She is survived by 5 daughters; Mrs. C. A. Crump of the home, Mrs. Iola Edmund of near Lumberton, Mrs. Earl A. Crump of Wilson, Mrs. C. D. Brothers and Mrs. Earl Tuton of Lumberton; 3 sons, W. G. of Lumberton, R. 3., Thurman of Boston, Mass., and Russell Tyson of near Lumberton; one sister, Mrs. Missouri Prevatt, who made her home for some time with Mrs. Tyson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
